HCMC – The American Chiropractic Clinic (ACC) is planning to offer training courses at various universities for chiropractors in Vietnam, according to Dr Wade Brackenbury, general director at ACC.

“We have worked with three universities to discuss the plan aimed at bringing U.S.-standard chiropractic care and treatment to Vietnam,” Dr Brackenbury told the Saigon Times Online on the sidelines of ACC’s opening ceremony for a new branch in HCMC’s District 5 on March 31.

Dr Wade also said that apart from the four existing clinics, ACC had targeted to open four more branches, but the training of doctors for chiropractic treatment should be prioritized.

To become chiropractors, they have to undergo a training period of six to eight years and learn about the functions of bones, joints, the spine and spinal nerves for treatment.

Many people in Vietnam and other developing countries are suffering from osteoporosis due to too much sitting, less moving or heavy work activities, said Dr Wade.

Having entered the Vietnamese market in 2006, ACC has established four branches, with two in HCMC, one in Hanoi City and one in Danang City. ACC specializes in the treatment of disc syndrome, spinal degeneration, knee pains and food problems.
