Fortnite Chapter 5 Season 2 Launch Delayed Due to Server Issues

Many Fortnite fans have been experiencing issues with the game today as Epic Games works on releasing the new Chapter 5 Season 2 update. Titled "Myths and Mortals", the latest season is centered around Greek mythology and opens up new locations like Mount Olympus on the map. Players were excited to try out new powers associated with mythological gods like Zeus and Hades.

However, launch of the update was delayed due to unexpected problems encountered during server maintenance. Outages peaked earlier in the morning according to outage tracking websites. In response, Epic provided frequent status updates on its official Twitter account to keep players informed.

It appears the challenges proved more difficult to resolve than anticipated. In its last update, Epic estimated the pre-download for the new season would be available around 7pm based on a 5 hour estimated time. This suggests the servers themselves may not be fully operational until later tonight.

Many fans expressed understanding towards the developer online, acknowledging the complexities that come with large scale releases and updates. Most encouraged Epic to take the time needed to ensure quality and stability rather than rushing. Others discussed their excitement to explore the mythical Greek themes and features being added this season once access is restored.

With no other details on potential further delays, players will have to check Epic's communications for confirmation on when exactly Fortnite Chapter 5 Season 2 goes live. The developer is clearly prioritizing a smooth experience over hasty timelines in light of the technical difficulties already encountered today.
