The Asian Games, known as Asiad 20, are currently underway, and Vietnam's athletes are making their mark. After four days of competition, the Vietnamese delegation has achieved one gold medal and eight bronze medals, placing them temporarily in 20th position overall. The gold medal was won by the women's kata team consisting of Nguyễn Ngọc Trâm, Bùi Ngọc Nhi, and Hoàng Thị Thu Uyên in karate.

In addition to the gold, the bronze medals were earned by various athletes across different sports, including Đinh Văn Tâm in men's wushu (56kg category) and a mixed team in teqball. Other notable performances include individual karate competitors and several rowing teams.

On September 24, the Vietnamese team is set to compete in several events with hopes of adding to their medal count. Notably, Đinh Văn Tâm will compete in the men's wushu final against Jiaming from China at 7:50 AM. The women's beach volleyball team will face off against teams from China and Japan, while rowing events will feature athletes like Hồ Thị Duy and Trần Thị Thu Hằng in finals for lightweight singles and doubles.

In the shooting category, Phạm Quang Huy, Lại Công Minh, and Nguyễn Đình Thành will participate in the men's individual pistol qualifiers at 7:45 AM, with the finals scheduled for 1:45 PM, contingent on their performance. Swimming events will also see Vietnamese athletes competing in various heats, including Nguyễn Thúy Hiền in the women's 50m freestyle and Dương Văn Hoàng Quy in the men's 50m butterfly.

As the day progresses, the Vietnamese delegation will also participate in gymnastics and athletics events, including finals for the women's triple jump and the mixed 4x400m relay. The schedule is packed, and the team is optimistic about their chances of securing more medals as they continue to compete against top athletes from across Asia.
