The Vietnamese women's volleyball team delivered an outstanding performance against Kazakhstan in the seventh-place playoff at ASIAD 2026. Led by 18-year-old Pham Quynh Huong, who scored a remarkable 18 points, Vietnam secured a convincing 3-0 victory.

Despite the match being of a procedural nature, head coach Nguyen Tuan Kiet opted to rest key players, including captain Tran Thi Thanh Thuy and Kim Thoa. This decision allowed younger players like Anh Thao, Tra My, and especially Quynh Huong to shine on the court.

The match started with both teams exchanging points, with Kazakhstan briefly leading by three points. However, Quynh Huong and her teammates rallied to win the first set 25-21. The second set saw Vietnam's performance improve further, with Bich Thuy, Quynh Huong, and Anh Thao taking turns to score, ultimately winning 25-19.

In the third set, Vietnam dominated the game, showcasing effective teamwork and strong defense against Kazakhstan's attacks. Quynh Huong capped off her impressive performance with a direct service ace, sealing the victory for Vietnam. The match concluded after 71 minutes, with Vietnam winning all three sets: 25-21, 25-19, and 25-15.

Besides Quynh Huong's standout performance, other players like Bich Thuy (10 points), Tra My (10 points), Le Thanh Thuy (7 points), and Anh Thao (6 points) made significant contributions as the team bids farewell to ASIAD this year.
