Manchester City to Make New Bid for Enzo Fernández After Big Sale

Manchester City has finalized the sale of midfielder Nico González to Newcastle for around 60 million euros, prompting the club to pursue Enzo Fernández once again. The Argentine midfielder, currently with Chelsea, is expected to play his first official match of the season against Fulham. However, his future remains uncertain as City prepares to make a significant offer for his services.

City's manager, Enzo Maresca, has expressed dissatisfaction with the performance of his midfielders, particularly after a disappointing loss to Arsenal in the Community Shield and a narrow victory against Bournemouth in their Premier League opener. The club has already sold Rodri to Barcelona for 60 million euros and Tijjani Reijnders to Al-Qadsiah for 61 million euros. In contrast, they made a substantial investment by acquiring Elliot Anderson from Nottingham Forest for approximately 135 million euros.

With three midfielders departing, Maresca is keen on acquiring Fernández, who he previously managed at Chelsea. The London club has reportedly set a price of no less than 140 million euros for the Argentine international. Additionally, City is close to finalizing a deal for Ayyoub Bouaddi, a standout player from the 2026 World Cup, for around 100 million euros.

This renewed interest in Fernández highlights Manchester City's ambition to bolster their midfield options as they aim for success in both domestic and European competitions.
