In a post-match press conference following Galatasaray's 3-1 victory against Kasımpaşa in the Turkish Süper Lig, assistant coach Irfan Saraloğlu addressed the media in the absence of head coach Okan Buruk, who was serving a suspension. Saraloğlu highlighted the significance of the win against a strong opponent, noting that Kasımpaşa came into the match unbeaten.
"We faced a formidable team that has a good structure and a respected coach in our league. We have a strong squad and have demonstrated good performances. This victory is valuable for us, especially as it allows us to start the league positively after the international break. It gives us energy for both the league and Champions League matches ahead," Saraloğlu stated.
The assistant coach reflected on the first half, where Galatasaray dominated the game, managing to score from a set piece. He stressed the importance of going into halftime with a lead, which set the tone for the second half. Despite facing challenges, including a red card situation, Saraloğlu praised his players for their resilience and performance.
When asked about İlkay Gündoğan's comments after the match, Saraloğlu noted that Gündoğan would definitely be given playing time, but he refrained from commenting specifically on individual players, emphasizing his role in supporting all players equally.
