Manchester City Targets Manu Kone Amid Transfer Activity

Manchester City has turned its attention to Roma's Manu Kone as a potential signing for their midfield, following the recent departures of Rodri and Tijjani Reijnders. The club sold both players for a combined total of approximately £110 million, leaving manager Enzo Maresca with gaps to fill just days before the Premier League season kicks off.

City is also in discussions to secure Lille's Ayyoub Bouaddi, valued at £85 million, to further bolster their midfield options. Kone, a 25-year-old French international, has been on the radar of several clubs, including Manchester United, who had previously engaged in talks with his representatives.

During the World Cup, Kone made five appearances for France, showcasing his abilities on an international stage. He has spent the last two years in Serie A, netting four goals in 63 appearances for Roma, but is primarily recognized for his dynamism and off-the-ball work.

Roma has reportedly set an asking price of around £51 million for Kone, which aligns closely with the fee that Al-Qadsiah paid for Reijnders. As the transfer window approaches its final fortnight, City is also exploring other options, including Enzo Fernandez, though Chelsea's demands for the Argentine midfielder have yet to be met.

In addition to Kone, City is looking to finalize sales of Savinho and Omar Marmoush to Tottenham, which could yield upwards of £140 million. With the transfer market heating up, City aims to solidify its squad as it embarks on a new chapter in its footballing journey.
