Transfer Updates: Manchester United Eyes Rafael Leao

On July 26, Manchester United received a valuation for their potential acquisition of Rafael Leao from AC Milan. According to transfer expert Nicolo Schira, Galatasaray has made an offer of 30 million euros for Leao, but AC Milan is firm on their asking price of at least 50 million euros. Leao has been frequently linked with Manchester United this summer as they seek to strengthen their left-wing options.

Manchester United will have an opportunity to further assess the performance of the Portuguese international when they face AC Milan in a friendly match on August 15. If Leao participates in this game, it could serve as a final chance for United to evaluate him before the transfer window enters its crucial phase.

In other transfer news, Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) has expressed interest in Rodri, who currently plays for Manchester City. Reports from RMC Sport indicate that PSG has made inquiries about the player, aiming to bring him to Parc des Princes. If Rodri makes the move, he would reunite with his Spanish national teammate, Fabian Ruiz, with whom he formed a strong central midfield partnership that helped Spain win the 2026 World Cup. Rodri's contract with Manchester City has only one year remaining, and while the club is eager to retain him, negotiations for an extension have yet to yield results.

Additionally, Manchester United is considering a swap deal involving Marcus Rashford and Manu Kone. La Gazzetta Dello Sport reports that United has not yet agreed to pay the 60 million euros required for Kone, leading them to explore negotiations with AS Roma to lower the asking price. However, involving Rashford in the deal presents challenges due to his high salary, estimated at around 10 million euros per season after tax, plus bonuses. If Rashford were to join Roma, he would become the highest-paid player in Serie A, which complicates matters further.

Meanwhile, Real Madrid is making significant strides in their pursuit of Yan Diomande from Leipzig, as reported by transfer expert Fabrizio Romano. The Spanish giants have reportedly offered the 19-year-old a five-year contract, and Diomande is open to the move. PSG remains interested in the Ivorian winger but has yet to reach an agreement with Leipzig regarding the transfer fee.

Lastly, Mohamed Salah is reportedly nearing a move to Besiktas on a free transfer. Nicolo Schira has indicated that an agreement in principle has been reached for a one-year contract, with an option for an additional year. The new Besiktas head coach, Vincenzo Italiano, has played a crucial role in facilitating this potential transfer. Salah left Liverpool earlier this summer, concluding a successful nine-year stint at Anfield where he won numerous accolades.
