Police Investigate Lost Items at Tan Son Nhat International Airport

Police at Tan Son Nhat International Airport have reported an increase in the number of lost items, including wallets and bags, found throughout the airport. The total value of these items is estimated to be in the hundreds of millions of Vietnamese Dong. In recent weeks, officers have been diligently working to identify the owners of these lost possessions and return them to their rightful owners.

On August 31, 2026, Lieutenant Ngo Trung Hieu and his team successfully returned a bag containing jewelry, cash, and personal documents to a female traveler from China. Similarly, on September 4, they helped another passenger, Tran Van Thach, reclaim a briefcase containing 50 million VND and 3,000 USD, along with important documents.

The police have also been proactive in assisting travelers who encounter health issues while moving through the airport. For instance, on the night of September 17 and the early morning of September 18, 2026, Officer Nguyen Thi Kim Yen provided support to a female passenger who fainted after disembarking from her flight. The officers ensured she received proper care and monitored her health condition.

These actions reflect the dedication and responsibility of the police force at Tan Son Nhat International Airport, as evidenced by numerous thank-you letters from grateful travelers, including one from Alyssa A. Heady. Such commendable efforts not only enhance the reputation of the police but also strengthen the trust of passengers in the law enforcement agency.

According to the airport authorities, these seemingly ordinary actions carry significant meaning, contributing to the promotion of a culture of honesty, responsibility, and dedication to serving the public. They aim to build a positive image of the immigration management force in the eyes of both domestic and international travelers.
