On September 29, 2026, a special Boeing 787 Dreamliner landed at Nội Bài International Airport, carrying a contingent of Vietnamese peacekeepers returning from a crucial international mission. General Nguyễn Trường Thắng, a member of the Central Party Committee and Deputy Minister of National Defense, was there to greet them.

The Fourth Engineering Brigade of Vietnam had successfully completed a year-long peacekeeping mission under the United Nations Interim Security Force for Abyei (UNISFA). During the welcoming ceremony, General Nguyễn Trường Thắng praised the brigade for their professionalism and dedication, highlighting their ability to operate in challenging conditions.

Throughout their deployment, the Fourth Engineering Brigade focused on constructing and upgrading infrastructure, including transportation systems and technical facilities, which not only supported the UN mission but also improved living conditions for the local population.
