The Kim Bài Primary School in Thanh Oai has announced the resumption of its lunch program for students, effective September 11. This decision comes after a brief suspension due to delays in meal deliveries, which caused students to return home for lunch over the past two days.

Phạm Trung Anh, the principal of Kim Bài Primary School, confirmed that the school had a meeting with a inter-sectoral working group to discuss the organization of the lunch program. The school currently has over 1,000 students enrolled, and the meals will be provided by a catering service that prepares food off-site and delivers it to the school.

Previously, students were receiving their lunch between 12:30 PM and 1:00 PM, but delays in food delivery led to significant inconvenience for families. Parents reported having to cook meals at home, with some even taking time off work to ensure their children had lunch. One parent, who has a fifth grader at Phương Trung Primary School, expressed frustration over the situation, noting that families with both parents working far from home faced the most challenges.

In response to the recent issues, the Hanoi Department of Education and Training has instructed local authorities to review their lunch program arrangements. This includes assessing facilities, staff, and the logistics of meal preparation and delivery to ensure that all students receive their meals on time.

As of now, 14 out of 18 educational institutions in Thanh Oai offer a lunch program, with approximately 3,000 students participating. The schools involved have been urged to ensure that they meet the necessary requirements for providing meals to students, particularly in maintaining appropriate timing and quality of food delivery.
