The Ministry of Health in Vietnam has officially revoked the business license of AstraZeneca Vietnam, effective from August 22, 2026. This decision, documented in the certificate number 1175/ĐKKDD-BYT issued on February 4, 2025, follows AstraZeneca's request for the withdrawal of its license due to alterations in its business strategy.
AstraZeneca Vietnam, headquartered on the 18th floor of the A&B building in Ho Chi Minh City, has been involved in the import and export of pharmaceuticals. The Ministry's decision also affects two certificates related to Good Storage Practices (GSP) for pharmaceuticals that were previously granted to the company.
The Ministry of Health's reasoning for the revocation highlights AstraZeneca's initiative to transition from older storage facilities to more modern ones, which aligns with the company's growth and commitment to enhancing product quality and service. The company has expressed that this change will not impact its operations at other certified business locations.
In a recent meeting on September 19, Deputy Minister of Health Nguyen Tri Thuc discussed ongoing collaboration with AstraZeneca Vietnam, led by its CEO Atul Tandon, focusing on sustainable development goals. The partnership aims to strengthen the healthcare landscape in Vietnam while ensuring that AstraZeneca continues to meet the pharmaceutical needs of the market.
