Death at Cosmetic Clinic in Ho Chi Minh City Raises Concerns

A tragic incident occurred at the Jangshi Luxury Cosmetic Clinic in Ho Chi Minh City, where a young man was found dead on August 20. Emergency services were alerted after reports of an unconscious individual at the clinic, located at 70 Bach Dang Street, Tan Son Hoa Ward. Upon arrival, paramedics discovered the patient had no pulse or blood pressure and was unresponsive, leading to a diagnosis of cardiac arrest and respiratory failure.

The deceased was subsequently taken to the morgue for an autopsy. The clinic, operated by Jangshi Luxury Joint Stock Company, has been under scrutiny due to its history of regulatory violations. In May 2025, the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Health imposed fines totaling 57 million VND on the clinic for several infractions, including allowing unregistered practitioners to provide medical services, failing to maintain required medical records, and advertising products without proper approval.

In response to this incident, the Department of Health has emphasized the importance of public health safety and transparency. They have established multiple channels for citizens to report issues related to medical services. These include a direct hotline for complaints about service quality and unethical practices, as well as a public service hotline for administrative inquiries.

Additionally, the Department has upgraded the emergency response system to better assist residents in need of urgent medical care. They urge the public to verify information about medical facilities through official channels and to report any suspicious practices immediately.

On August 21, the Department of Health received a directive from the Ministry of Health to investigate the circumstances surrounding the death at Jangshi Luxury. Authorities are tasked with ensuring that the clinic operates within its licensed scope and addressing any violations promptly.
