The Central Committee of the Communist Party of Vietnam has reached a consensus to rename the Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Department and to transfer its responsibilities regarding mass mobilization to the Vietnam Fatherland Front and other central organizations. This decision was confirmed during the third Central Conference of the 14th term.
Following this transfer of responsibilities, the Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Department will be renamed the Central Propaganda Department. The Politburo has been tasked with reviewing and making decisions in accordance with its authority regarding this change.
The Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Department was established in February 2025, following the merger of the Central Propaganda Department and the Central Mass Mobilization Department. It serves as an advisory body to the Central Committee, working directly and continuously with the Politburo and the Secretariat on matters related to propaganda, mass mobilization, and the construction of the Party across various political, ideological, and ethical dimensions.
The current head of the Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Department is Trinh Van Quyet, who is supported by eight deputy heads: Pham Tat Thang, Ngo Dong Hai, Nguyen Quang Duc, Tran Thanh Lam, Trieu Tai Vinh, Phan Xuan Thuy, Vu Thanh Mai, and Dinh Thi Mai.
