University of Hue Appoints Multiple New Leaders
The University of Hue has announced the appointment of several new deans and deputy deans across its member

On July 6, 2026, the People's Committee of Thanh Hoa Province announced the appointment of Hoang Thi Mai as the Vice Rector of Hong Duc University. This appointment is part of the university's efforts to strengthen its leadership team during a period of organizational restructuring.
According to the decision, Hoang Thi Mai's term will commence on August 24, 2024, and will continue until her retirement as per regulations. The decision is effective immediately and replaces the previous decision issued on July 1, 2026.
Hoang Thi Mai, born on June 6, 1970, holds the title of Associate Professor and Doctor. She is one of four members of the university's leadership team who hold the title of Associate Professor, alongside Rector Le Hoang Ba Huyen and Vice Rectors Ngo Chi Thanh and Dau Ba Thin.
As of June 23, 2026, Hong Duc University has a total of 199 faculty members with the title of Associate Professor or Doctor, of which 31 are Associate Professors. This strong faculty base is crucial for the university's training, research, and management efforts in the new phase.
The restructuring of the leadership team at Hong Duc University coincides with the integration of Thanh Hoa University of Culture, Sports, and Tourism into Hong Duc University. Following the merger, Hong Duc University will continue to operate as a multi-disciplinary public higher education institution under the management of the Thanh Hoa Provincial People's Committee and the Ministry of Education and Training.
As part of the merger plan, students from Thanh Hoa University of Culture, Sports, and Tourism will be integrated into relevant training departments at Hong Duc University, ensuring their rights, benefits, and continuity in their education.
This merger is expected to streamline the administrative structure, optimize the use of facilities and faculty resources, and enhance the scale and capacity for training and research at Hong Duc University.
