HCMC - After the HCMC Center for Disease Control announced that the city has recorded 23 more cases of Covid-19, the city's health system has warned about the risk of community spread of the highly contagious disease, mainly through close contact at work or residences.

All of the 23 new cases were close contacts at the residences or workplaces of the confirmed cases numbered 10,714 and 10,715. These two patients live in the same residence in District 10 and both tested positive during screening at a hospital.

Of the 23 cases announced this morning, nine cases are in District 1, one in District 6, two in District 8, five in District 10, one in District 11, three in Binh Thanh District and two in Phu Nhuan District.

The HCDC warned the public against the potential risk of community spread as the newly discovered infection chains were mainly transmitted through close contact at the workplaces or residences of the infected.

Therefore, the HCDC recommended that to effectively control the pandemic, people must comply with regulations on social distancing, file health declarations if exposed and actively seek medical care in case of having symptoms of respiratory infection.
