Dinh Tien Dung Exits 'Brothers Overcoming Challenges', Show Delayed
Dinh Tien Dung has officially withdrawn from the reality show 'Brothers Overcoming Challenges 2026'

'Brotherhood Overcoming Challenges' is making its comeback on July 18, following a brief hiatus. The show, which has garnered significant attention, will introduce a new competition format during its first performance.
According to a trailer released on July 16, host Tran Ngoc announced a shift in the competition rules. Instead of the previous one-on-one battles, contestants will now compete in groups during the first performance. This change has left many contestants surprised and anxious, as they must adapt their strategies to choose their opponents wisely to ensure their team's advancement.
The theme for the first performance is 'The Man on the Horse,' with contestants divided into eight groups. They will have to select from songs that feature X-parts (newly created lyrics or completely original compositions) and X-songs (new songs). The first performance, originally scheduled for July 11, was postponed to July 18 based on a decision from the production team, citing a directive from the Vietnam Television Advertising and Copyright Exploitation Center.
This season of 'Brotherhood Overcoming Challenges' features 34 contestants. However, on July 10, the organizers announced that Dinh Tien Dung (also known as Cu Trong Xoay) would officially withdraw from the competition. The reasons for his departure were related to personal wishes, but no further details were provided by the program.
In addition to the return of five contestants from the first season, this year's show has drawn attention with seven contestants in their late 20s and three in their mid-20s. The program has aired two episodes so far and has received positive reviews, although performances from the five returning contestants sparked significant controversy. Many viewers felt that the acts by Duy Khanh, Thanh Duy, BB Tran, Neko Le, and Jun Pham were less engaging, relying heavily on familiar performance formulas, yet they succeeded due to their large fan bases.
As the show continues to evolve, it remains a focal point of entertainment in Vietnam, reflecting the complexities of music as both an art form and a societal phenomenon.
