Visit the "red addresses" in Quang Tri in July. Relive the heroic history of the Vietnamese nation

Quang Tri is the top destination for Vietnamese people when the Day of Invalids and Martyrs is approaching. This place has gone through the war full of blood and tears of the nation. The vestiges are also stored and displayed at "red addresses" that always have an attraction for patriots, young people who are "turning to the source".

1. Quang Tri Ancient Citadel

Quang Tri Ancient Citadel, also known as Quang Tri Ancient Citadel, is a special national monument in Quang Tri town, Quang Tri province. This is the seat of the Nguyen Dynasty and a military citadel in the Quang Tri district. During the French colonial period, this place was the center of Quang Tri province. Especially during the general offensive and uprising in 1972, this place was known to the whole world when it was associated with the heroic 81-day war of the nation.

Today, Quang Tri Citadel has become a historical attraction to be noticed in Quang Tri travel. This place is considered a cemetery without graves for all the soldiers who sacrificed their blood and blood for the independence and freedom of the country. On December 9, 2013, the Ancient Citadel was ranked as a special national relic associated with the historical event of 81 days and nights.

The memorial is octagonal, with four walkways and an incense offering floor. This design symbolizes the eight trigrams, the four statues, and the level of doubt. Above is a stylized roof with a traditional Pacific design. In addition, to go up to the memorial, visitors have to go through 81 steps, symbolizing 81 days and nights of fiery battle at Quang Tri Ancient Citadel.

In the southwest, a modern building displays historical relics and emotional letters sent by the soldier to his family during the battle. Parallel to the road from the right gate, a large park connects the relic with the Thach Han River.

In addition, a bell tower in Quang Tri Ancient Citadel was inaugurated on April 29, 2007. On the tower is a bronze bell with a height of 3.9m, 2.15m in diameter, and nearly 9 tons in weight. The bell is hung at a height of nearly 10m and is usually struck on holidays and the full moon of each month to commemorate the souls of martyrs.

2. Truong Son Martyrs Cemetery

Truong Son National Martyrs Cemetery is located on Ben Tat Hill, next to Ho Chi Minh Road, in Linh Truong Commune, Gio Linh District, Quang Tri Province. Ben Tat Hill area, with its position as the front line of the southern battlefield, is also the starting point of the Truong Son route in South Vietnam.

After the country's unification, the Party Central Committee and the Ministry of Defense approved the Truong Son National Martyrs Cemetery construction project in Quang Tri province. Ben Tat Hill area was chosen as the eternal resting place of Truong Son martyrs. Cemetery started construction on October 24, 1975, and was completed on April 10, 1977.

Truong Son National Martyrs Cemetery is home to 10,263 graves of martyrs with a total area of 140,000m2. The grave land is divided into 10 main areas.

Truong Son Martyrs Cemetery is the eternal resting place of heroes and martyrs who died on the Ho Chi Minh trail during the anti-American era.

This is the most massive, largest-scale gratitude work of high art, expressing the deep sympathy, gratitude and honor of the entire Party, army and people for the beloved children in all parts of the country who have spared no blood and bones for the cause of national liberation and reunification.

3. General Secretary Le Duan's memorial site

Located on the bank of Thach Han River, about 3km northeast of National Highway 1A, in the territory of Hau Kien village, Trieu Thanh commune, Trieu Phong district, Quang Tri province. The relic of General Secretary Le Duan's house is located near the Sai market area. This place was once a busy trading center very developed handicraft industry of the Trieu Phong delta. In this house, a great personality was born, nurtured and formed one of Vietnam's revolutionary leaders: Comrade Le Duan.

Monument to General Secretary Le Duan is the common name for a relic complex, including the Commemorative House of Comrade Le Duan - the living place of a comrade's family since moving from Bich La Dong to Hau Kien and now is a place to worship two great-grandparents and comrades in his homeland. The memorial house is a place to organize the visiting ceremony of pilgrims and visitors. The souvenir gallery is a place to display artifacts and documents related to the life and career of comrade Le Duan. The memorial site of the late General Secretary Le Duan is a historical relic commemorating the typical celebrity of Quang Tri province, linking the youth and years of revolutionary activities of comrades in his homeland with the existence and development of the revolutionary struggle movement of the Party and people of Quang Tri province during the two resistance wars against the French colonialists and the American imperialists.

Comrade Le Duan's memorial relic is a place to educate patriotism and national pride, one of the red places for traditional educational activities and cultural activities for generations in Quang Tri and the whole country. Every year, there are often activities of local cadres and youths such as incense offerings, flower offerings, and public newspapers, ... The above activities have brought many practical results and left many good impressions for visitors visiting the monument.

Located in the revolutionary historical relic system, close to the cluster of 81 days and nights of Quang Tri Citadel. The relic of General Secretary Le Duan's memorial site is also one of the tourist attractions, a "pilgrimage to the roots" of veterans and domestic and foreign tourists every time they come to Quang Tri tourism, adding to the vividness, richness and diversity of the type of Quang Tri revolutionary historical relic.
