Danang proposes huge non-tariff zone
HCMC – Danang City has written to the Ministry of Planning and Investment proposing setting up a non-tariff zone, reported the local media.

The 151-hectare non-tariff zone, which would be located at the end of Ba Na-Suoi Mo Street, will comprise four functional areas, commerce, logistics, medical services and educational and other supporting services.

There will be discount stores, duty-free supermarkets, bonded warehouses, container yards, healthcare and rehabilitation centers and vocational schools in the zone.

According to the Danang People’s Committee, establishing the non-tariff zone would create core business activities of a commercial, tourism and international service providing center, enhancing the city’s competitiveness and turning it into a coastal city worth living.

The roadmap for establishing a non-tariff zone will consist of four phases, according to which the city expects to complete the functional infrastructure for operation after 2027.

The Danang non-tariff zone is expected to make the most of the city’s potential, geographical and economic advantages, inducing the consumption of high-quality international commodities and services in Vietnam and introducing Vietnamese products to international guests.
