Nearly 4,000 tons of cargo cleared through Mong Cai Border Gate

HCMC – Cargo throughput at the Mong Cai International Border Gate reached 4,000 tons in the first two days of 2023, mainly export goods, according to the border gate authority in the northern province of Quang Ninh.

The functional units have completed customer clearance procedures for 560 vehicles carrying over 3,900 tons of export goods on the pontoon bridge in Hai Yen Ward, Mong Cai, including 134 vehicles from Vietnam and others from China.

Of the total cargo throughput, agricultural products accounted for some 1,835 tons and aquatic products for 1,474 tons. The main export goods are tapioca, dry goods, frozen seafood, fresh seafood, fruits and other groceries.

Regarding import goods, some 438 tons of groceries and 88 tons of garments were cleared through the border gate.

On December 31, the border bridge in Hai Yen Ward handled 187 vehicles transporting 2,108 tons of goods to China and 94 others carrying 298 tons of goods to Vietnam.

China’s Guangxi province officially resumed customs clearance at the Bac Luan Bridge 2 Border Gate in Mong Cai City on January 3.

Previously, Vietnamese and Chinese agencies completed customs procedures for dozens of vehicles carrying import and export goods through this border gate, mainly production materials and yarn products of the Texhong Textile Group.
