The Vietnam U17 Women's team is preparing for a pivotal showdown against the U17 Women's team of Kyrgyzstan on October 11, 2026. This match is crucial as it will decide which team secures the sole spot available from their group for the final round of the 2027 AFC U17 Women's Championship.

After two matches, both teams have accumulated six points. Vietnam's impressive 20-0 victory over the Northern Mariana Islands has placed them at the top of Group D. However, Kyrgyzstan also boasts a strong record, having defeated the Northern Mariana Islands 18-0 and Palestine 2-1, giving them a goal difference of +19.

Vietnam's head coach, Okiyama Masahiko, has set high expectations for his team, emphasizing the importance of scoring more than Kyrgyzstan's previous match against the Northern Mariana Islands. The upcoming match will be the first encounter between these two teams, and Vietnam only needs a draw to advance, while Kyrgyzstan must win to secure the top position and the qualification spot.

Kyrgyzstan has demonstrated their capability to perform under pressure, notably coming from behind to win against Palestine. Their physical strength and cohesive play style will pose a challenge for Vietnam. Coach Antonio Mesa has recognized Vietnam as a formidable opponent, highlighting that Kyrgyzstan has conducted two training camps in preparation and has been gathering information on their rivals.

Despite the advantage of needing only a draw, Coach Okiyama is pushing his players to aim for victory. With a total of 26 goals scored in their two matches, Vietnam is riding a wave of confidence. The team will need to focus on ball control, technical skills, and quick decision-making while minimizing direct confrontations with the physically stronger Kyrgyzstan players.

The match between Vietnam and Kyrgyzstan will kick off at 18:00 on October 11 at the Ba Ria Stadium. The winner will not only claim the top spot in Group D but will also earn a coveted place in the final round of the 2027 AFC U17 Women's Championship.
