Everton's manager, David Moyes, has publicly lamented the departure of Iliman Ndiaye, who has transferred to Manchester City. This move, confirmed in the closing hours of the summer transfer window, sees the 26-year-old striker join City until 2031, marking his third club in England after Liverpool and Sheffield United.

Moyes acknowledged the challenge of retaining players when top clubs like Manchester City come calling. "We have lost Ili (Ndiaye), someone we absolutely did not want to lose. But it's difficult when clubs like Manchester City come to seek your players," he stated during his first press conference following the transfer window.

The Scottish manager expressed his dissatisfaction with the way the transfer market concluded, indicating that he had hoped for more successful transactions. "I am disappointed that we could not conclude more deals and that things did not turn in our favor at the end," he added.

Despite this setback, Everton began their Premier League season with a promising start, securing a 2-0 victory against Crystal Palace and a 2-2 draw with Bournemouth. The loss of Ndiaye, however, is a significant blow to Moyes as he navigates the challenges of the current season.
