Manchester United Agrees to Sign Carlos Baleba for £70 Million

Manchester United has made a significant move in the summer transfer market by reaching an agreement with Brighton for the acquisition of midfielder Carlos Baleba. According to reports from Sky Sports, the total value of the transfer is set at £70 million, which comprises £65 million paid upfront and an additional £5 million in potential add-ons.

As part of the deal, Brighton will also receive a percentage of any future transfer fee if Manchester United decides to sell Baleba to another club. The 20-year-old midfielder is expected to sign a five-year contract with Manchester United and is scheduled to undergo a medical examination within the next 24 hours.

This transfer follows an earlier bid of £65 million from Manchester United for the Cameroonian player, which was initially rejected by Brighton. The club's proactive approach in securing Baleba reflects their ambition to strengthen the squad ahead of the new season.

In related news, Arsenal has officially announced the signing of defender Ezri Konsa, who has joined the club on a four-year deal with an option for an additional year. Arsenal reportedly paid a total of £55 million to Aston Villa for Konsa, which includes £51 million upfront and £4 million in add-ons.

As the transfer window continues, Manchester United is also reportedly in the running to sign young defender Jorge Salinas from Racing Santander, while Barcelona has reached an agreement to sign goalkeeper Dominik Livakovic from Fenerbahce for €4 million, although he will remain on loan at Fenerbahce for another season.

With these developments, the summer transfer market remains highly active, with clubs looking to bolster their squads ahead of the upcoming season.
