In a significant move for the summer transfer window, Arsenal has successfully negotiated a deal with Newcastle United for Brazilian midfielder Bruno Guimaraes. The transfer fee has been set at £75 million, allowing Arsenal to save £10 million from Newcastle's original asking price of £85 million.

Guimaraes has been a standout performer for Newcastle, making 195 appearances over four years, during which he scored 31 goals and provided 32 assists. His contributions were pivotal in helping Newcastle secure their first major trophy in 70 years by winning the League Cup in March 2025.

With Guimaraes joining the squad, Arsenal's midfield is set to become significantly stronger. He will be joining a talented group that includes Declan Rice, Martin Zubimendi, Martin Odegaard, Mikel Merino, and Myles Lewis-Skelly. Guimaraes is widely regarded as one of the best central midfielders in the world, known for his relentless work rate, fierce tackling, and exceptional vision, which allows him to deliver precise passes into the opponent's final third.

This transfer is part of a broader strategy for Arsenal as they look to enhance their squad and compete for top honors in the upcoming season. Meanwhile, Newcastle is expected to benefit financially from this transfer, having already made significant profits from player sales this summer, including Anthony Gordon's move to Barcelona for £69.3 million and Sandro Tonali's transfer to Tottenham for £100 million.
