Josko Gvardiol Aims for More Success at Manchester City

Josko Gvardiol has reflected on a whirlwind, trophy-laden three years at Manchester City but emphasized his ambition to win even more in the future. Since arriving in August 2023 from RB Leipzig, Gvardiol has already collected six major honors, including the Premier League, FA Cup, Carabao Cup, Community Shield, UEFA Super Cup, and FIFA Club World Cup.

With a fresh five-year deal signed, the 24-year-old is targeting additional top prizes in football. "Being here, being surrounded by all these great names, players and characters, seeing them every day, training and pushing harder and harder, we achieved a lot of things together," Gvardiol stated. He expressed his eagerness to remain at the club, saying, "This is the right club for me and my family as well. I have everything I need here, and I’ve said it many times, I really like it here in Manchester."

Among the six major trophies he has won, Gvardiol highlighted the Premier League as his favorite, noting its significance, especially since he became one of the few Croatians to win it. "I would say my favorite one and the most difficult one to win is the Premier League, especially because in my first season I gave an interview and said that only a few Croatians have won the Premier League. I did it in my first season somehow, and that’s my favorite one," he explained.

As Manchester City enters a new era under manager Enzo Maresca, following Pep Guardiola’s legendary tenure, Gvardiol is determined to contribute both on and off the pitch. He acknowledged his growth as a player over the past three years, stating, "I still think there are a lot of things to improve and learn, but I’m only 24; I have enough time."
