River Plate has finalized the last administrative details regarding the transfer of Thiago Almada, a move that is set to see the Argentine club pay 20 million euros for 50% of the player's rights. This transfer comes as Almada has expressed his willingness to return to play in his home country after his stint with Atlético Madrid.

The negotiations between River Plate and Atlético Madrid intensified in recent days, culminating in a meeting between the clubs' executives in Madrid. This meeting helped solidify the agreement, although the official announcement will be delayed until after Almada concludes his participation in the World Cup, where he has been a key player under coach Lionel Scaloni.

At 25 years old, Almada is under contract with Atlético Madrid until June 2030.
