Vietnam's National Football Team Faces Myanmar in Friendly Match

The Vietnamese national football team is set to play a highly anticipated friendly match against Myanmar on July 18, 2026, at Thái Nguyên Stadium. The match has captured the attention of fans, leading to a swift sell-out of tickets, particularly the highest-priced ones, which were priced at 300,000 VND. The Vietnam Football Federation (VFF) reported that all tickets in this category were sold out shortly after they became available online.

As of July 9, 2026, tickets priced at 200,000 VND are also in limited supply, indicating a strong demand from supporters eager to witness the team's performance. The VFF initially released tickets exclusively through the Techcombank OneU app, starting from July 8, and will continue until July 11 or until they are sold out.

Fans purchasing tickets are required to verify their identity using a national ID or passport, with tickets being delivered via Vietnam Post or available for direct pickup at the stadium. This match is particularly significant as it serves as the only friendly before Vietnam embarks on their campaign to defend their title in the AFF Cup 2026.

Under the guidance of coach Kim Sang-sik, the team has been performing well, which has heightened expectations among fans. The trio of Xuân Son, Hoàng Hên, and Tài Lộc, who have shown impressive form during their training camp in South Korea, is expected to make a notable impact in the upcoming match. Xuân Son, in particular, has demonstrated a strong return from injury, consistently contributing goals and assists.

Following their training camp in Incheon, the team will return to Vietnam on July 14 to finalize preparations for the match against Myanmar. This friendly not only serves as a tactical rehearsal but also offers fans a chance to see the revamped team ahead of the AFF Cup 2026.
