Rafael Nadal Opens Hotel Chain to Combat Boredom Post-Retirement

In a recent interview with Forbes, tennis legend Rafael Nadal shared his motivation for starting a hotel chain called 'Zel'. The initiative, which began in 2022, now includes four hotels, with Nadal stating that he wanted to find purpose in his life after retiring from professional tennis. He expressed his dislike for the monotony of retired life, saying, 'I started this hotel chain because I don't like the boredom of life after tennis and want to do something meaningful.'

Nadal's venture into the hospitality industry is a significant shift from his illustrious tennis career, where he has won numerous Grand Slam titles. He emphasized the importance of staying active and focused, stating, 'My goal is to always move forward.'

In addition to Nadal's hotel business, the sports world is buzzing with other news. The Vietnamese men's volleyball team has finalized its roster for the upcoming SEA V.League 2026, with 17 players selected, including Đinh Văn Duy and Phan Công Đức. This will mark the team’s first international competition since the 33rd SEA Games last year.

In UFC news, Mauricio Ruffy has been named as a backup fighter for Max Holloway in case Holloway cannot compete against Conor McGregor due to injury. Ruffy recently defeated Michael Chandler and is set to travel from Brazil to Las Vegas for the opportunity.

Lastly, Manny Pacquiao's plans for a rematch with Floyd Mayweather may be delayed due to Mayweather's legal issues. Reports from the Philippines suggest that Pacquiao is considering facing IBF welterweight champion Liam Paro or WBA champion Rolly Romero, but he may prefer to wait for a chance to fight Mayweather, given the personal significance of that matchup.
