New hot spell strikes, temperatures rise to 38-39
VOV.VN - Northern provinces are enduring a fresh heat wave, starting on May 10, as temperatures are forecast

The National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting has provided an update on the weather conditions in Northern Vietnam, indicating that the region will experience widespread rain and thunderstorms beginning June 25. This forecast comes as a relief after a period of intense heat.
From June 20 to June 24, Northern Vietnam is expected to endure high temperatures, with maximums reaching between 36 to 38 degrees Celsius. The hottest days are projected for June 23 and 24, where temperatures could soar to between 37 and 39 degrees Celsius, with some areas exceeding 39 degrees.
Following this hot spell, from June 25 to June 28, rain and thunderstorms are anticipated across the northern region, particularly from June 26 to 27, when moderate to heavy rain is likely in the northern mountainous and midland areas.
In Central Vietnam, the weather will also be hot, with temperatures climbing to between 37 and 40 degrees Celsius from June 20 to June 25. However, a gradual decrease in heat is expected from June 26 to 28.
The authorities have issued a level 1 warning for heat-related risks, emphasizing the potential for fire hazards due to increased electricity usage and the risk of dehydration for individuals exposed to high temperatures for prolonged periods.
It is important to note that actual temperatures may vary by 2 to 4 degrees Celsius from the forecasted highs, influenced by local conditions such as concrete and asphalt surfaces.
In the Central Highlands and Southern Vietnam, rainfall is expected to be minimal from June 20 to June 23, but thunderstorms and rain will likely increase from June 24 to June 28, with some areas experiencing heavy downpours.
