More than 100 people fined for not wearing face masks in Hanoi
Hanoi has to tighten the enforcement of quarantine procedure to prevent the spreading of novel coronavirus.
HCMC – The authorities of Vinh Phuc Province on May 6 fined a Chinese man VND7.5 million (US$325) for violating Covid-19 quarantine regulations.
Chen Yu comes from Chongqing, China, and works at the Zongshen Engine Manufacturing Company in Me Linh District, Hanoi. After his arrival in Vietnam, he spent 14 days at a quarantine center.
According to the prevailing regulations, Chen Yu had to self-isolate at home for 14 more days after completing the mandatory quarantine. However, he left his place of residence and stayed at Flamingo Dai Lai Resort in Phuc Yen City, Vinh Phuc City.
Besides Chen Yu, from May 3 to 5, the Vinh Phuc police fined more than 170 people a total of VND229.5 million for not wearing face masks when going out or visiting public places. Each of them was fined VND1-3 million.
