Thu Uyên, known as the 'Tech Beauty', has been officially announced as Vietnam's representative for the upcoming Miss Earth 2026 pageant, scheduled for November in the Philippines. At a press conference held on July 4 in Ho Chi Minh City, the organization responsible for sending contestants to Miss Earth revealed that Thu Uyên, aged 29 and a Top 5 finalist in the FPT University Beauty Contest, would compete this year.

Unlike previous years, where contestants were selected through the Miss Earth Vietnam qualification rounds, Thu Uyên was chosen directly. Hailing from Hai Phong, she graduated with a degree in Business Administration and stands at 1.7 meters tall, with measurements of 84-61-94 cm. Currently, she works in the health and beauty sector and has participated in several beauty contests, including reaching the Top 15 in the Vietnam Student Beauty Contest and the Top 20 in the Vietnam Women’s Photo Contest in 2017.

Thu Uyên has earned the nickname 'Tech Beauty' as she is the co-founder and CEO of a technology-related company. Her management team expressed confidence in her selection, citing her image, adaptability, eagerness to learn, and commitment to sustainable development—key values aligned with the Miss Earth mission.

Emotional upon receiving her sash, Thu Uyên stated, "I will prepare seriously and do my best." She has four months to enhance her performance skills, language proficiency, and physical fitness. Furthermore, she plans to delve deeper into Vietnamese culture and develop a community project to present at Miss Earth.

Miss Earth, an annual beauty pageant established in 2001, is headquartered in the Philippines. The reigning Miss Earth 2025 is Natálie Puškinová from the Czech Republic. The pageant aims to raise awareness and promote campaigns regarding environmental protection. Vietnam's highest achievement in this competition was winning the title of Miss Earth 2018, awarded to Nguyễn Phương Khánh. Other notable placements include Đỗ Thị Lan Anh and Trịnh Mỹ Anh, who won the Water title in 2023 and 2025, respectively.
