On the 2/9 holiday, Ho Chi Minh City organizes many art, entertainment and tourism products to serve tourists and residents.
According to activities specifically designed for the holiday from September 1 to September 4, announced by the Department of Tourism on August 30, all programs are free, except for inner-city tours by local travel companies. The organization has a ticket price of about 300,000 VND per person. Below is a schedule of programs and activities visitors can refer to to plan holiday fun.

Location: President Ho Chi Minh Monument Park and Nguyen Hue Street
The exhibition program took place before the September 2 holiday. During the holiday, visitors can still tour the works of art. This exhibition aims to celebrate the 78th anniversary of the August Revolution (August 19, 1945 - August 19, 2023), the National Day of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam (September 2, 1945 - September 2, 2023) ) and 78 years of Saigon uprising to seize power (August 25, 1945 - August 25, 2023). The works on display relate to the historic victory in the autumn of 1945 and the country's development after the day of peace. The exhibition stretches from Ngo Duc Ke Street to Ton Duc Thang Street, Dong Khoi Street (in front of the Department of Culture and Sports, opposite Chi Lang Park).
2. Release hot air balloons
Time: September 2-3
Location: Nguyen Thien Thanh Street, Thu Duc City
This activity occurs two days in the morning, from 6 to 9 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. On the evening of September 2, there will be a hot air balloon night program. Balloon shows on September 3 only take place in the morning. Depending on weather conditions, the time of organizing activities may be suspended or adjusted accordingly.
3. Sports performance

Location: Nguyen Hue walking area
The performance featured teams of lions and dragons, drums, and martial arts such as Vovinam, Wushu, traditional martial arts and Taekwondo. The program starts at 6 p.m. and ends at 19:15, on the Ton That Thiep Street section to Huynh Thuc Khang.
4. Art program
Time: September 2
Location: Nguyen Hue walking area
The art program is divided into 3 parts. From 19:30 to 21:00, an art program will take place to celebrate the 78th anniversary of the August Revolution, the National Day of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam and the 78th anniversary of the Saigon uprising to seize power. From 21h to 21h15, live stream big screen fireworks art. The time frame from 21:15 to 22:15 continues art performances. This program is held at the Nguyen Hue pedestrian street intersection with Ngo Duc Ke Street, Ben Nghe Ward, District 1.
5. Fireworks
Time: September 2
Location: The area at the beginning of the Saigon River Tunnel, Thu Duc City and Dam Sen Cultural Park, District 11
The explosive fireworks display took place on the evening of September 2, lasting for 15 minutes, from 9:00 p.m. to 9:15 p.m. and taking place at two locations simultaneously. The area at the beginning of the Saigon River tunnel displays high-altitude fireworks displays, and Dam Sen Cultural Park displays low-range fireworks. Every year, this activity receives the attention of many people. For a good spot, you should arrive 30 minutes in advance.
6. Saigon Tour - Listen to architecture tell stories

This is an inner-city tour organized by many travel businesses in Ho Chi Minh City in collaboration with the Department of Tourism. This tour costs 300,000 VND with a half-day sightseeing time. Tourists begin sightseeing at Uncle Ho's Monument Park on Nguyen Hue Walking Street, District 1. Then, visit the People's Committee headquarters and the City Theater. These are two prominent French architectural works in Ho Chi Minh City, with many historical stories revolving around them. The last activity of the tour is to ride a double-decker bus to see the city.
7. Cheap shopping
The Department of Tourism said the September 2 holiday is also the peak season to stimulate shopping tourism. Ho Chi Minh City Department of Industry and Trade has announced thousands of products with promotional prices so that visitors can shop cheaply at shopping centers in the city during the holiday.
8. Other activities
In addition to events and tourism products designed specifically for the September 2 holiday, Ho Chi Minh City has many other inner-city activities for tourists to experience. Notably, the new river tours came into operation in early August. Five tours can be mentioned, including the inner-city route Nhieu Loc - Thi Nghe, Binh Quoi route, Cu Chi, Can Gio tourist route (departure from Bach Dang Wharf), which connects to the Southeast and Western provinces or Cambodia. Tours mainly take place during the day. Visitors can contact travel agencies in the city to book tours. In addition, visitors can visit walking and food streets to enjoy specialties and immerse themselves in the city's multicultural atmosphere.
