PM urges solidarity to complete 2022 targets
HCMC – Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh has told the government of Ben Tre Province to focus on developing the maritime economy to step up socioeconomic development.
Chinh asked the province to concentrate on three key drivers of economic growth, namely domestic consumption, investment and export.
Given a 65-kilometer coastline, the Mekong Delta province has sought to rev up the maritime industry, particularly with the aquatic products.
PM Chinh highlighted the need to expedite the completion of major growth targets, notably with transportation infrastructure, human resources and local brand development.
The province reported economic growth of 7.3% in 2022, with a total budget collection of VND5,690 billion.
Exports went up by 19.69% to US$1.51 billion, with green-skinned pomelos becoming the seventh Vietnamese fresh fruit sent to the U.S. market.
