NDO – The Hanoi Tourism, Trade and Investment Promotion Centre held a seminar on April 26 regarding investment promotion in high-tech agriculture under the theme “Opportunities and policies in high-tech agriculture”.

At the seminar, the delegates shared policies to support and prioritise high-tech agriculture devised at both central and municipal levels and offered several solutions for market development, including support services for high technologies in agriculture.

High-tech agriculture applies new and advanced technologies to improve production efficiency, creating a breakthrough in productivity and quality of agricultural products, satisfying the increasing demands of the society as well as ensuring the development and reform of Vietnam's agriculture.

Applying science and technology helps solve challenges in agricultural development with the advantages of technologies such as biotechnology, greenhouse technology, drip irrigation technology, sensor technology and automation. It also helps save costs, increase productivity, lower costs and improve the quality of agricultural products, while protecting the environment.

The seminar also summed up the problems and difficulties faced by enterprises when applying high technologies throughout the agricultural sector in Hanoi to inform the authorities at all levels to continue to evaluate, summarize and adjust mechanisms and policies to create a suitable investment environment, thereby, encouraging and supporting organisations, investors, businesses, cooperatives, and farmer households in applying high technology in agriculture.
