In a commanding performance, Thailand triumphed over Pakistan with a score of 4-0 in the FIFA ASEAN Cup.

The Vietnam national football team delivered an impressive performance against Pakistan, winning 4-2 in their final group stage match of the FIFA ASEAN Cup 2026. After a disappointing loss to Thailand in their previous game, Vietnam entered the match with determination to finish strong.
Ranked 99th in the FIFA standings, Vietnam faced 198th-ranked Pakistan, who started the match with surprising aggression, creating two significant chances within the first five minutes. However, it was Vietnam that faced an early setback when Ullah Mohib scored for Pakistan in the 31st minute, capitalizing on a defensive error.
Vietnam had a golden opportunity to equalize before halftime, but Williams Minh Hoàng missed a crucial chance. After the break, Coach Kim Sang Sik made key substitutions, bringing on Đình Bắc and Phan Tuấn Tài, who would prove pivotal in the second half.
In the 50th minute, Tuấn Tài set up Hai Long, who skillfully maneuvered past the Pakistani defense to score, leveling the match. Just nine minutes later, Hoàng Đức scored Vietnam's second goal with a powerful shot from outside the box, putting Vietnam ahead 2-1.
The momentum continued to swing in Vietnam's favor as Đình Bắc scored the third goal in the 80th minute, finishing a well-coordinated play with Tuấn Tài. In the dying moments of the match, both teams added to the scoreline, with Vietnam's Minh Hoàng scoring in stoppage time, sealing a 4-2 victory.
This victory secured Vietnam's second place in Group B, allowing them to advance to the third-place playoff against Malaysia, scheduled for October 5. The match showcased Vietnam's resilience and skill, promising an exciting encounter ahead.
