Former Roma and Inter Milan midfielder Radja Nainggolan has shared his thoughts on the intense rivalry between the two clubs, stating that he still feels connected to both sides and could potentially play for either. As Roma prepares to face Inter at the Stadio Olimpico, Nainggolan expressed his nostalgia for the matches he once participated in, emphasizing his love for the game.

Nainggolan, who currently plays for Belgium’s Patro Eisden, believes he still has the capability to contribute on the pitch. "I have the feeling of someone who would still love to play a match like that. And perhaps I still could," he told Gazzetta. He noted that he would fit in well as either an attacking midfielder or a box-to-box midfielder, highlighting his fitness and desire to return to the field.

As the two teams prepare to clash, Nainggolan anticipates a thrilling encounter. "A great, tough game between two teams who love attacking football," he remarked. He acknowledged Inter's strength, stating they have no rivals in Italy regarding squad depth, while also praising Roma for their stability and identity under coach Gian Piero Gasperini.

Reflecting on his career, Nainggolan revealed that he would have never left Roma if it weren’t for former sporting director Monchi, who he claims played a double game in the transfer market. "He would ask me for advice on transfer dealings while simultaneously negotiating to sell me," Nainggolan explained. He also mentioned that he had turned down a lucrative offer from China to stay with Roma, indicating his commitment to the club.

Nainggolan's journey took him to Inter, where he reunited with coach Luciano Spalletti, with whom he enjoyed significant success. However, after Spalletti's departure, Nainggolan's time at Inter became challenging under Antonio Conte, who informed him he was not part of his plans. Despite this, Nainggolan remains grateful for the experiences he had at both clubs and continues to support Roma, where he feels he truly expressed himself as a player.
