Harry Kane Rates PSG as Top Contender for Champions League Title
Harry Kane, the star striker for Bayern Munich, has named Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) as the leading contender

Arsenal has emerged as the top contender for the Champions League title for the 2026-2027 season, according to predictions from Opta's supercomputer. The team, which made history by winning all eight of its group stage matches in the previous season, is projected to have a 21.2% chance of lifting the trophy.
In the 2025-2026 season, Arsenal dominated the group stage, but the upcoming season presents a more challenging schedule. The Gunners will face formidable opponents including Real Madrid, Bayern Munich, and Borussia Dortmund. Despite these challenges, they are expected to qualify for the knockout stage with a high probability of 93.1%.
Bayern Munich, while having a slightly higher chance of topping the group at 19.8%, is rated second overall for the championship with a 19.9% chance. This is closely followed by Manchester City, which has a 12% chance of winning the title again after their first victory in 2023.
Paris Saint-Germain, the reigning champions, are rated fourth with a 7.7% chance of achieving a hat-trick of titles. Other notable contenders include Barcelona and Liverpool, both with a chance of 5.1%.
Manchester United, returning to the Champions League after a two-year absence, has a 37.4% chance of reaching the quarter-finals, but only a 3.7% chance of winning the title.
In total, 22 teams have been predicted to have a chance of winning, albeit with less than 1% probability. The disparity in quality among teams in the Champions League remains significant.
As the new season approaches, fans and analysts alike are eager to see if Opta's predictions will hold true, especially after last season's forecasts proved to be somewhat accurate.
