The UEFA Champions League 2026/27 group stage draw is scheduled for August 27, 2026, following the conclusion of the playoff matches on August 25 and 26. This highly anticipated event will reveal the eight opponents each of the 36 participating teams will face in the tournament.

As of July 27, UEFA has not yet announced the exact time or location of the draw, although it is speculated to take place at UEFA's headquarters in Nyon, Switzerland. In the previous two seasons, the draw was held in Monaco. Fans will be able to watch the event live on UEFA's official website and the Champions League app once broadcasting details are confirmed.

A total of 29 teams have already secured direct qualification for the Champions League, with the remaining spots filled through qualifying rounds and playoffs. Notable clubs confirmed for the tournament include Paris Saint-Germain, Real Madrid, Barcelona, Atletico Madrid, Liverpool, Arsenal, Manchester City, Manchester United, Bayern Munich, Borussia Dortmund, Inter Milan, and Napoli. Additional teams such as Aston Villa, Villarreal, Real Betis, Leipzig, Stuttgart, Roma, Como, Lens, Lille, Porto, Sporting CP, PSV, Feyenoord, Club Brugge, Galatasaray, Slavia Prague, and Shakhtar Donetsk have also qualified.

The playoff rounds will take place on August 18-19 and August 25-26, determining the final seven representatives for the group stage. The draw will categorize the 36 teams into four pots, with each pot containing nine teams. Each club will face two opponents from each pot, playing a total of eight matches against different teams, unlike the previous format where teams faced three opponents in home-and-away matches.

Teams from the same country will not compete against each other in the group stage, and each team can only face a maximum of two clubs from the same nation. The draw process will combine physical elements with automated software to ensure a fair selection of matchups.

The Champions League 2026/27 group stage matches are scheduled as follows: Round 1 on September 8-10, 2026; Round 2 on October 13-14, 2026; Round 3 on October 20-21, 2026; Round 4 on November 3-4, 2026; Round 5 on November 24-25, 2026; Round 6 on December 8-9, 2026; Round 7 on January 19-20, 2027; and Round 8 on January 27, 2027. The top eight teams in the standings will advance directly to the Round of 16, while teams ranked 9th to 24th will enter a playoff for the remaining eight spots, with those in positions 25 and below being eliminated.

The final will be held at the Metropolitano Stadium in Madrid on June 5, 2027.
