The V.League 2026/27 season kicks off with a match between Thanh Hoa and Da Nang at 5:00 PM on September 6. While Da Nang boasts a stronger lineup, they are anticipated to encounter difficulties as they play away in Thanh Hoa.

After lifting a FIFA transfer ban, Thanh Hoa has not made many notable signings due to financial constraints. They have lost some key players like Xuan Hoang and Ngoc Tan, and are primarily relying on local talent and players who have struggled for playing time at other clubs. Their main objective this season is simply to avoid relegation, making their match against Da Nang particularly important for gaining confidence early in the season.

In their last five encounters, the two teams have had a balanced record, with each winning two matches and one ending in a draw. In the previous season, Da Nang defeated Thanh Hoa 4-0 at home.
