In anticipation of the ASEAN Cup 2026 final between Vietnam and Thailand, numerous localities across Vietnam are installing large screens and organizing fireworks displays to rally support for the national team. The final match is scheduled for tonight, and communities are eager to come together to celebrate this significant sporting event.

On August 26, large screens were set up at parks and squares in various cities. For instance, in My Tho, Dong Thap province, a large screen along with sound and lighting systems was installed at the Lac Hong Flower Park to allow residents to watch the match. In Tay Ninh, a similar setup was arranged at the To Quyen Square, where a program titled "Movie Night - Living with Football" will take place, providing over 1,000 seats for the public to enjoy a film before the final.

In Dong Nai, a large screen was erected at Duong Tu Giang Park, where live coverage of the match will be accompanied by musical performances and fireworks to cheer on the Vietnamese team. "We expect around 3,000 participants, and the security and stage preparations are nearly complete," said Luu Thi Hang, Deputy Chairwoman of the Tam Hiep People's Committee.

Ho Chi Minh City has also been proactive, having installed five LED screens measuring 7 meters high and 12 meters wide at Nguyen Hue Walking Street since August 16 to cater to fans attending the semi-final against Malaysia. This area has seen a significant influx of local residents and international tourists who gathered to support Vietnam during the first leg of the final on August 22.

In Binh Duong, large LED screens and sound systems are being prepared at the Dong Hoa Stadium on Hai Ba Trung Street to broadcast the final live. Additional screens measuring 400-600 inches have been set up at various locations, including the April 30 Square in Ben Cat and Bach Dang Park in Thu Dau Mot.

Other localities, including Da Nang and Ha Tinh, have also installed large LED screens for fans to watch the match. As Vietnam heads into the final match with a 2-0 advantage from the first leg, excitement is palpable. This marks the third consecutive time these two teams have faced each other in the Southeast Asian championship finals. In 2022, under coach Park Hang-seo, Vietnam drew 2-2 with Thailand at My Dinh but lost 0-1 at Thammasat. Two years later, under coach Kim Sang-sik, Vietnam triumphed in both legs, winning 2-1 in Phu Tho and 3-2 in Rajamangala.
