NEW DELHI: The India U20 men’s team showcased their strength with a 3-0 victory over Singapore in the first of two closed-door friendly matches held at the Centre for Sports Excellence in Bengaluru on August 3, 2026. The match served as a crucial part of their preparations for the AFC U20 Asian Cup China 2027 Qualifiers.

Rishi Singh Ningthoukhongjam opened the scoring just before halftime with a goal in the 45+2 minute, giving India a 1-0 lead. Singamayum Shami followed up with a second goal in the 63rd minute, further solidifying India's advantage. The match concluded with an own goal from the Singapore team in the 83rd minute, bringing the final score to 3-0.

This friendly match is part of a series of preparations as the Blue Colts gear up for the AFC U20 Asian Cup qualifiers, which are set to take place in Uzbekistan from August 31 to September 6, 2026. The Indian team will face Singapore again on August 6 for another friendly match, providing them with an additional opportunity to fine-tune their strategies ahead of the qualifiers.
