FC Bayern Women Prepare for Match Against RB Ōmiya Ardija

The FC Bayern Women’s team is gearing up for their first test match against RB Ōmiya Ardija as part of the Allianz Women’s Tour 2026 in Japan. The match is scheduled for Saturday, July 25, at 10 AM German time, and will take place at the NACK5 Stadium in Saitama. Fans can watch the match live on FC Bayern TV PLUS.

Since July 13, the Bayern women have been in training for the new season, returning to the pitch after their summer break. They have been working hard to regain their rhythm, with new signings such as Kassandra Potsi, Regina van Eijk, Sarah Mattner, and Sophie Proost joining the squad. The team has been engaging in intense training sessions while also immersing themselves in the local culture during their stay in Japan.

RB Ōmiya Ardija, the opponent for this friendly, is also preparing for the new season in the Japanese WE League, where they finished seventh last season. The team is looking forward to their league opener against Urawa Red Diamonds on August 22. Notably, Bayern will face a familiar opponent in Japanese forward Mai Kadowaki, who previously played in the Frauen-Bundesliga for RB Leipzig.

However, Bayern will be missing several key players for this match. Captain Bernadette Amani is participating in the Africa Cup with the Ivory Coast, while Giulia Gwinn is recovering from shoulder surgery and Vanessa Gilles is sidelined with a muscular injury. Other players like Lena Oberdorf, Sarah Zadrazil, and Sophie Proost will also not feature in this match.

Head coach José Barcala expressed excitement about the tour, stating, "It is wonderful to be here in Japan and spend this time together. Everything is great here. Our visit helps us understand why Momoko is such a wonderful person and player. It’s enriching to learn about her culture and to be here with her. The upcoming test against RB Ōmiya Ardija is a great opportunity for us to continue working on our goals, and we are looking forward to the match."

This friendly match serves as a crucial preparation step for the Bayern Women as they look ahead to their competitive season.
