Claudecir Junior Celebrates World Cup Spirit in Vietnam

Claudecir Junior, the former top scorer of the V-League, has shared his heartfelt experiences of enjoying the World Cup while living in Vietnam. This year's tournament, held in North America, marks the first time Claudecir has fully immersed himself in the World Cup atmosphere since retiring from professional football. He recalls fond memories of watching Brazil's matches with his family, emphasizing the vibrant enthusiasm of Vietnamese fans during this global football celebration.

During a recent interview, Claudecir expressed his joy at witnessing the fervor of Vietnamese supporters, noting that regardless of the time of day, public viewing spots like cafes and restaurants are packed with fans cheering for their teams. He remarked, "The atmosphere of support makes me feel like the World Cup is present in every corner of the streets in Hanoi. It’s a unique experience that fills me with happiness."

Claudecir, who played in Vietnam from 2016 to 2022, reflected on how the World Cup serves as a special occasion for family bonding. Despite living in different cities, his family maintains a tradition of watching Brazil's matches together, celebrating goals and discussing the games, which enhances their connection. "Every time Brazil plays, everyone is excited, and we celebrate the goals together, no matter where we are," he shared.

As for Brazil's performance, Claudecir is optimistic about their chances of winning the championship, praising the team's resilience and skill under coach Carlo Ancelotti. He recalled a particularly thrilling match against Japan, where Brazil made a comeback to win 2-1, highlighting the emotional rollercoaster of the game. "That was an incredible match. The feeling of victory was indescribable, especially when we celebrated together as a family at nearly 2 AM in Vietnam," he said.

Claudecir also expressed admiration for Vinicius Junior, a standout player in the current Brazilian squad, and hopes he will continue to lead the team effectively in the tournament. Having established a deep connection with Vietnam, Claudecir now lives in Hanoi with his family, where he remains engaged with local football events, including participating in seven-a-side tournaments.
