Eight more returnees infected with Covid-19

HCMC - The Ministry of Health has confirmed eight new imported Covid-19 patients, including six in Khanh Hoa, one in Kien Giang and one in Danang, taking the country’s Covid-19 tally to 2,781 as of this evening, April 17.

Among the six cases in Khanh Hoa, four returned to Vietnam from Japan on flight VJ5139 on April 15 and were put under quarantine after arriving at the Cam Ranh International Airport.

Another woman came back to Vietnam from Russia on flight VN5064 on April 13. Meanwhile, a man flew from Japan on April 11.

The six tested positive for Covid-10 on April 17 and are being treated at the Khanh Hoa Hospital for Tropical Diseases.

The patient in Kien Giang entered Vietnam through Ha Tien International Border Gate. She was found to be infected with Covid-19 on April 15 and is under medical treatment at the medical center of Ha Tien City.

The remaining case, who was reported in Danang, is a male resident of Nghe An Province. He flew from Romania to Vietnam through the Danang International Airport. He tested positive for Covid-19 on April 16 and is being treated at the Danang Lung Hospital.

In related news, the Ministry of Health has established five teams to inspect the management of entry or exit process, quarantine and Covid-19 vaccination. Accordingly, a team will do the job in Kien Giang, Can Tho and Vinh Long; the second team in Dong Thap and Long An; the third team in An Giang and Tien Giang; another team in Ben Tre, Tra Vinh and Hau Giang; the last team in Bac Lieu, Ca Mau and Soc Trang.
