Edge of Couture: The Art of Fashion returned to the Sidney & Berne Davis Art Center in Fort Myers, Florida, with a rock-and-roll runway experience that brought together couture design, live music, theatrical performance and wearable art.
According to the Sidney & Berne Davis Art Center, the event was scheduled for Friday, 24 April 2026, beginning with cocktails at 7:00 PM, followed by the runway show at 8:00 PM and a rooftop afterparty at 10:00 PM. The venue described the evening as an immersive experience where fashion, music and performance collide in downtown Fort Myers.
Held inside the venue’s Grand Atrium Ballroom, Edge of Couture was presented as more than a conventional fashion show. The 2026 production leaned into a bold rock-and-roll aesthetic, turning the runway into a stage for rebellious style, artistic experimentation and wearable art.
Happenings Magazine, a Southwest Florida arts and entertainment publication, also reported that the evening would begin with cocktails, continue with the runway presentation and close with a VIP rooftop afterparty at Sidney’s Rooftop overlooking the Caloosahatchee River.
The runway featured original collections from regional designers including Marcy Putt, Faith Finfrock, Josey Prior, Kris Timson, Kayla Burnett and Lexah Ann, Angelina Guarisco and Andrea McCain, Cesar Aguilera, and Izzy Aye Eye. SBDAC said the designers would present distinctive looks that blur the lines between fashion, art and performance.
The show was hosted by Karina Borgia-Lacroix, with student musicians from School of Rock Fort Myersperforming live before the runway. During the runway show, DJ DAYYLITE provided a mix of rock and electronic beats, while Blou Note performed during intermission.
SBDAC Curator Cesar Aguilera produced the show in collaboration with the creative team at the Sidney & Berne Davis Art Center. Aguilera said the 2026 show was inspired by the theatrical power and fearless individuality of rock legends, with Ozzy Osbourne serving as an unexpected creative spark for the production.
Ticket information listed by SBDAC included General Admission at $75, Premium Runway Seating at $125 and Rooftop Afterparty access at $25. General Admission seating was listed as first come, first served, while Premium Runway Seating included access to the rooftop afterparty.
Proceeds from the event benefit the arts and education programming of the Sidney & Berne Davis Art Center, a nonprofit organisation serving the Southwest Florida community.
Beyond the local arts calendar, Edge of Couture 2026 also reflects a broader fashion shift towards bolder, more expressive styling. Its rock-and-roll direction gives space to metal textures, darker silhouettes, theatrical makeup and alternative fashion codes that are increasingly visible across independent runway culture.
For fashion observers, the event shows how regional creative scenes can contribute to wider style conversations. Instead of presenting fashion only as seasonal clothing, Edge of Couture frames it as performance, identity and visual storytelling.
