SEA Games stamp collection launched in capital city

HÀ NỘI — A new stamp collection has been released to honour the upcoming 31st SEA Games to be held in Viet Nam from May 12-23.

The collection, issued by the Ministry of Information and Communications and the Viet Nam Post Corporation, includes four 32mm by 43mm stamp designs and a 80mm by 100mm miniature sheet illustrating Viet Nam’s strong sports of athletics, shooting, swimming, gymnastics and football.

The stamp are designed by painters Trần Thế Vinh and Nguyễn Du of the Viet Nam Post Corporation.

The artists used graphic design methods to develop their colourful and beautiful collection in which their work describes the strength, agility, speed and fierce competitiveness of the athletes.

The stamp background features the ASEAN symbol, representing the solidarity of the regional countries which are all on the way to prosperity and development.

Images of the 31st SEA Games’ logo and mascot are allowed to use by the Games Organising Committee while images of sports and characters painted on the stamps are agreed by authority agencies and athletes.

The collection will be put in use from May 12, 2022 to December 31, 2023. The stamp are priced at VNĐ4,000 each while the miniature sheet is VNĐ15,000.

Viet Nam will receive about 10,000 SEA Games participants from the event and thousands of tourists who come to cheer their athletes competing in 40 sports. — VNS
