Artists realize ‘Green Dreams’ at exhibition in Ho Chi Minh City

A happy family, a peaceful life, and a world of dreams are what the female artists from the Ho Chi Minh City Fine Arts Association hope to convey at ‘Uoc mo xanh’ (Green Dreams), an art exhibition held to celebrate the upcoming International Women’s Day.

Green Dreams kicked off on Wednesday at the Ho Chi Minh City Fine Arts Association in District 3 with the participation of artists and art lovers.

The exhibition is showcasing 117 pieces of lacquer, oil paint, acrylic, watercolor, graphic, ceramic, and wood arts from 87 female artists, with each boasting the unique interpretation of the artists’ hopes and ‘green dreams.’

The artists featured at the display come from all walks of life. Despite their different backgrounds, they all share the same love and passion for art.

The exhibition is an annual event held as a reunion for female artists ahead of International Women's Day on March 8. 

The exhibition is open to the public until then.




Nguyen Thi Thu Hien and her painting ‘Binh Yen’ (Peace). As a mom, her favorite thing to do is watch her baby sleep safely in her arms, as depicted in the painting.



Tran Thao Hien stands next to her oil painting ‘Vao Mua Cuc Hoa Mi’ (When the Daisies Bloom). Her ‘green dream’ is kept alive in the beauty of nature where birds enjoy a peaceful spring filled with love and light.



Sculptor Nguyen Xuan Tien enjoys the work ‘Ben Them’ (By the Veranda) by Phan Thi Thuy Trang. After many years mastering her embroidery skills, Trang sees the Green Dreams exhibition as an opportunity to revive her passion for painting.

A painting vividly depicts the vibrant atmosphere of the traditional Lunar New Year (Tet) holiday in Vietnam’s countryside.



Artworks in diverse themes, materials, and styles are on display at the Green Dreams’exhibition at the Ho Chi Minh City Fine Arts Association.
