HỘI AN — Six travel agencies and tour operators in Quảng Nam have agreed to work together to rebuild the tourism industry and promote traditional livelihoods as part of the post-COVID 19 recovery plan in the central province.

The deal will help tourism companies introduce and share their key products as part of combined tour programmes to host international and domestic travellers visiting Quảng Nam.

The groups include the Đong Giang Heaven Gate eco-tour site under the FGV Group, the Hoi An Memories, Tan Thanh fishing village, Thien Minh Group, Silk Group, and Phu Ninh Lake eco-tour. 

Together they will build combined tour programs made up of different destinations and services, promoting traditional culture, arts, crafts and ancient heritage sites. 

Vice-chairman of Quảng Nam Tourism Association, Võ Phung, said the agreement was a result of positive cooperation among travel agencies in building trust and endeavour for reviving tourism after COVID-19.

The group of six aim to boost tourism services based on the preservation of traditional culture and nature, in keeping with the trend of sustainable and ‘green’ tourism, Phung said.

It’s the first agreement among local travel agencies to promote each other's destinations and activities. 

The ancient town of Hoi An has received its first tourists in the post COVID era on November 15. Tourism services have resumed in the Old Quarter, Thanh Ha pottery village, Cham Islands and nipa palm forests of Cẩm Thanh. 

Tan Thanh fishing village, on An Bang beach 5km from Hoi An ancient town, is promoting its  ‘green’ image through boosting free plastic-zero waste-recycling. 

The Ký Ức Hoi An (Hoi An Memories) show is a unique night arts performance for tourists that explores the 400-year history and development of the ancient town in the 15th-18th century.

Silk village, a site in Hoi An city, is a lively museum on the silk trade with demonstrations on handloom weaving.

The mountainous district of Đong Giang still preserves its traditional brocade weaving villages of the ethnic Cơ Tu group, along with rich biodiversity forests and the indigenous lifestyle of ethnic communities.

It remains mostly hidden from tourists and is home to 16 ethnic minorities, primarily the Cơ Tu. Meanwhile, the Phu Ninh Lake eco-tourism site has been built to conserve critically endangered primates with well-protected forests.

Đa Nẵng city, in co-operation with Quảng Nam, Thừa Thien Huế and Quảng Bình, has launched a plan for sharing tour programmes and tourists in the COVID-19 tourism recovery time. — VNS
