HCMC – The VinaCapital Foundation (VCF) has launched the program, "Help Vietnam Breathe", to provide critical medical equipment including ventilators, personal protection equipment and other critical needs for Covid-19 treatment hospitals and frontline healthcare workers.

The program is part of VCF’s effort to join hands with the city government to fight against the raging Covid-19 pandemic in HCMC. As new cases are increasing dramatically, especially in HCMC, VCF aims to donate a minimum of 15 ventilators for hospitals treating Covid patients and personal protective equipment to protect 9,000 frontline healthcare workers from a high risk of infection.

The program will continue to raise funds for more equipment and supplies as long as the pandemic exists. VCF will join hands with the Fatherland Front Committee of HCMC to distribute the medical equipment to areas most in need.

VCF and "Help Vietnam Breathe" have been endorsed by famous artists and celebrities such as Ngo Thanh Van, Toc Tien, Ninh Duong Lan Ngoc, Miss Universe Vietnam H’Hen Nie and the players of the National Football team such as Quang Hai, Bui Tien Dung, Ha Duc Chinh and Doan Van Hau to spread the meaningful message of the program.

Director - actress Ngo Thanh Van said, “I want to join hands with Vietnamese artists and VCF to humbly contribute to the fight against the pandemic in our country. I hope the pandemic ends soon, everyone stays healthy and we can go back to normal life.”

“With the support of the HCMC Fatherland Front Committee, donors and partners, the VinaCapital Foundation is implementing the fundraising campaign ‘Help Vietnam Breathe’ to ensure the health and safety of our hospital staff heroes on the frontline and preserve the lives of those with Covid-19, especially the critical cases, by providing life-saving medical equipment,” said Andy Ho, managing director and CIO of VinaCapital Group, board member of VinaCapital Foundation.

In 2020, VCF also provided medical equipment to support Covid prevention with a total value of nearly VND3.5 billion to hospitals in HCMC. Since the beginning of July this year, VCF has donated personal protective equipment to support many medical facilities in the city to cope with the fourth wave of the virus.
