Two Vietnamese photographers won the 3rd prize in the categories of architecture and portrait in the Monochrome Photography Awards 2020.

The Monochrome Photography Awards 2020 has just announced the results, including many award-winning photos by Vietnamese photographers. The contest attracted more than 7,000 photographers from 91 countries and territories.
Photographer Le Viet Khanh claimed the 3rd prize in the Architecture category with the picture "Buddha statue on the top of Indochina". Khanh said that he captured the rare moment as clouds follow the wind hovering around the bronze Buddha statue which is located on Mount Fansipan. Fansipan, dubbed as the rooftop of Indochina, is a famous tourist attraction in Lao Cai's Sa Pa.

In the Portrait category, lensman Nguyen Tien Tuan also bagged the 3rd prize with the photo “Cham old man” depicting an old man is reading ancient books of the Cham ethnic people.

In addition, photographer Nguyen Tan Tuan won 2 consolation prizes in the Street category with pictures titled "Going Home" and “Children playing in sand dunes”. The former captured a woman driving a flock of sheep home after a day of grazing. The author said that Ninh Thuan is the hottest and driest land in Vietnam, so sheep must be herded very far to find fresh grass.

“Children playing in sand dunes” represents children playing with old tires in Nam Cuong sand dune, a famous tourist site in An Hai commune, Ninh Thuan’s Ninh Phuoc district.

Photo "Nature and people" taken in Ha Long Bay by photographer Spanish Mark Beyermann was also highly appreciated in the Street category.
Ha Long Bay with more than 2,000 large and small limestone islands is a "natural wonder" of Vietnam, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, and a not-to-be-missed destination.

The first prize of the Abstract category belonged to Romanian Gheorghe Popa with “Yin and Yang” work. The photo shows the aerial view of frozen Lake Cuejdel, Romania's largest natural dam.

The first prize of the Architecture category was awarded to the Taiwanese photographer Po-Yi Li with the image titled "Reverse". The author shared that he took this photo during a holiday at the well-known Zhong Shugs bookstore in Chongqing.

"Horse Man" by Indonesian Rudy Oei won the first prize in the Landscape category. The picture was taken at the Bromo mount in East Java, Indonesia.
